This week at GMU: May 11 - May 17, 2008

Welcome to the GMU website. If you are new to the area, we hope that this information will give you some idea about who we are as a school district. Please feel free to email us or call us here at the school. Feel free to contact any of the building administrators or the Superintendent for information. We are very proud of our school and would be interested in having you come to our school for a tour.

GMU provides a wide array of opportunities for students. Our vision has always been to provide a high quality education to our students at a reasonable cost to our taxpayers. Living in a rural area does not necessarily have to mean that the school system is not equipped with the proper resources or the newest technology. We have wireless internet connectivity and mobile technology labs for students to access resources from anywhere in the school building. Our elementary school offers both a traditional grade configuration and multi-age classrooms. Our 7-8 middle school is team based, and our High School has both Regents level and AP (Advanced Placement) course offerings. At GMU, most of our students graduate with a Regents Diploma (80% in 2006) and the majority of those students attend a two or four year university. (75-80% on average.) Recent graduates of GMU are attending such universities as Cornell, Union, Colgate, Albany School of Pharmacy, Maryland, and Kansas State, to name a few. Those students not attending a college or university are serving in the military or going directly into the workforce.

We would be pleased to share more of what we are about with you at any time. In the meantime, please enjoy our website.
- Mr. Douglas Exley, Superintendent
