GMU welcomes new Transportation Supervisor

The Gilbertsville-Mount Upton Central School District welcomes Guilford native Harold Ives as its new Transportation Supervisor!

Harold IvesAn Oxford Academy graduate, Harold officially started working with our GMU Family on March 29. He takes over for Joe Zaczek, who retired in January after a 30-year career in the District.

Harold was the Assistant Coordinator for Health and Safety at DCMO BOCES for the last five-plus years. Before that, he spent three years as a division president for Reese Marshall, a heating, ventilating and air conditioning service in Norwich.

His work experience also includes one year as a full-time bus driver for his alma mater, followed by six as a part-time drive while he served Chenango County as a 911 dispatcher.

After graduating from Oxford, he earned a degree in Animal Husbandry from SUNY Cobleskill and later ran a trucking company with his father and brother. The father of three lives in Guilford with his wife, Patti.
