Learning change for Grades 2, 5 & 6

Students return to school (2/2021)

Our community and students have done a great job of keeping the COVID positive cases to a minimum in our school community. It is our low number of positive cases that is allowing us to again explore safe ways to bring additional students back to school for four days a week.

All 2nd, 5th, and 6th Grade students can return to school for in-person learning, four days a week, beginning on Monday, February 22. Each student will come to school every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, unless we have a designated day off from school. If students have been riding the bus, they will continue to take the same bus to school Monday through Thursday. If students receive meals at home, they will continue to do so, but please know that your child’s bag will contain two fewer lunches, since they can now eat those meals in school.

Please know that with this increase of students in the building, we will do our absolute best to keep students socially distanced inside and outside of the classroom as recommended, but it may not always be possible. To do our best in keeping each other healthy, students will be required, as they are already, to wear masks at all times and to respect each other’s space. Each teacher will develop a schedule for students to have mask breaks throughout the day. Teachers may also be making adjustments to their teaching schedules to best meet student needs, and the teacher will inform everyone of such a change if it were to occur.

If your child is fully virtual and you would like them to begin attending school four days a week with their classmates, please be sure to contact the main office by Wednesday, February 17, so that we can fully prepare for their return to in-person learning.

We are so excited by the opportunity to have our 2nd, 5th, and 6th Grade students in four days a week. The health and safety of our students and staff will continue to be a priority. We are continually monitoring our enrollment and protocols to increase attendance when we are able to throughout the District.
