GMU Marching Band (file)On Saturday, GMU will take part in the Concerts competition at 11:20 a.m. on the SECSD campus, then line up for the main event – the marching band/color guard parade down Main Street in Sherburne. More than 30 school districts are scheduled to participate in Saturday’s parade, which will begin at 1 p.m.

The parade route will end at the SECSD’s Marauder Stadium, where the White Sabers Drum and Bugle Corps from Danville and the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing Rock Band will perform exhibitions after the final drumline performance of the day. An Awards Ceremony highlighting the Pageant’s best will immediately follow.

Sponsored by the Sherburne Fire Department, the Sherburne Pageant of Bands will return to live, in-person performances in 2022 following a two-year hiatus of public gatherings because of the COVID-19 health crisis. There is no cost nor assigned seating for spectators, who will not be required to wear masks and social distance but may choose to do so at their discretion.

Parking and concessions will be available near Sherburne-Earlville High School. Official Sherburne Pageant of Bands programs ($2) and T-shirts ($15) will be available for purchase as well.
