The Gilbertsville-Mount Upton Central School District thanks you for your patience during its investigation of a threat on a social-media platform. The investigation determined that the threat filtered through school districts across the state but was not credible, nor did it target GMU.

During the investigation, GMU and several other area schools went into a lockout. When a lockout is in effect at GMU, all doors to the building are locked, nobody may enter the building, and no outdoor activities on campus may occur. Activities inside the building resumed as usual.

Out of an abundance of caution, GMU remained in a lockout until the end of the school day Friday and canceled all after-school activities. This includes our varsity girls basketball game at Milford, which will be rescheduled.
