January Senior of the Month: Isabella Ramos

Isabella

All who know Isabella Ramos know that she is a bubbly, energetic young woman--described as sweet, always with a smile on her face.
Isabella is a strong student who is able to juggle her academic work along with employment at a local retailer in Oneonta.  She achieves a work-life balance despite a hectic schedule. She is hard-working and always does her best to get things right.
Isabella is on fire for social justice and change!  She frequently chooses to write articles in her journalism class that have the potential to make the world a better place.  Isabella has written on the misuse of the word “retarded,” the #metoo movement, challenges in the workplace, and stopping school violence.  When you speak with her, you will find that she is well-informed and articulate about those things that she feels strongly about.  She is vocal with her fellow peers and encourages them to be their best selves.
For her outgoing leadership spirit and brave heart, Isabella was GMU’s RYLA recipient this past summer.
She is the Student Council representative for the Class of 2019, a member of SADD, and Homecoming Queen 2018.
Her busy schedule at GMU includes TC3 Psychology, TC3 College Seminar, and Journalism II.  In her spare time, Isabella enjoys music, movie, and makeup; these are a few of her favorite things.
Isabella has been accepted into SUNY Delhi and SUNY Morrisville, with a goal to go into social work.
This quote by Ayn Rand sums up Isabella’s attitude toward life. “The question isn't who is going to let me; it's who is going to stop me.”  We wish her the best.
