Free dairy Wednesday at GMU!

Milk products (5/2020)

The Gilbertsville-Mount Upton Central School District invites the general public to pick up FREE dairy products at the school from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Wednesday, May 13.

Free gallons of milk, yogurt, cheese, ice cream, eggs and produce will be available while supplies last at the Gilbertsville-Mount Upton Central School District, 693 State Highway 51, Gilbertsville, NY.

A drive-through distribution process will ensure the safety and health of all. Residents are asked to stay in their vehicles until they are prompted to receive their products.

Dairy Farmers of America (DFA), a national cooperative owned by dairy farm families across the U.S., has teamed up with Dean Foods, the American Dairy Association North East, Chobani, Cabot, Hershey’s and Huff to offer these FREE dairy products to the GMU Community and beyond.

Organized by GMU Cafeteria Manager Susan Sebeck and PK-12 Principal Heather Wilcox, the event is also co-sponsored by CoBar Dairy LLC, Community Bank, GMUTA, Hannaford, Carlo Masi, Preferred Mutual, Sidney Federal Credit Union, Southtown Dairy LLC, Susquehanna Signs, Upstate Companies and our very own Otsego County Dairy Princess, Hannah Bonczkowski.

“We are extremely grateful for the donations from our local dairy farmers and dairy processors to help support families in our school district,” Wilcox said. “These are challenging times for all of us and our school district wants to do everything possible to help students and families during this time.”

To date, Dairy Farmers of America with the help of American Dairy Association North East, has donated more than 100,000 gallons of milk throughout New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland and Delaware.
