Congratulations to the following Gilbertsville-Mount Upton students who completed our 2021 Summer Reading Challenge!
Second Grade: Alaina Beckwith, Allison Boyce, Danny Favinger, Ella Hauptfleisch, Jaxson Zaczek
Third Grade: Gigi Barnes, Bryce Gundlach
Fourth Grade: Tyler Crisell, Johnny Favinger, Lily Hauptfleisch
Fifth Grade: Amelia Beckwith, Cooper Gundlach
Sixth Grade: Gabby Barnes, Daisy Crisell, Jake Favinger, Sophia Parslow
These students read for at least 20 minutes a day, five days a week over summer vacation. As part of the celebration, they joined GMU Literacy Specialist Lauren Weidman on a special field trip to Sidney Memorial Library and Keith Clark Park.
Students had the opportunity to select new books to check out, and six signed up for their first library card! A special thank you to Michelle for the wonderful read-alouds and to Cassandra for the fun crafts!
“Reading every day is so important,” Mrs. Weidman said. “I am so proud of these students for working hard, exploring new genres, and loving books!”
