Students in Mr. Trass' and Mrs. Hill's first-grade classes have spent 10 weeks working on writing stories, and on Nov. 29 they had a chance to show off their illustrated work to friends and parents who stopped by.
Using a workshop approach, the students have been:
- using sketching to initiate ideas
- crafting stories around a beginning, middle, and end
- revising their work through writing "twin sentences," adding dialogue, etc.
- editing their work through use of the word wall and word list.
