Congratulations to Gilbertsville-Mount Upton freshman Brennan Finch, who will compete in the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Cross Country Championships this weekend at SUNY Plattsburgh.
Brennan finished 11th for Gilbertsville-Mount Upton/Morris during the Section 4 Class D Championships earlier this month, completing Chenango Valley State Park’s 3.1-mile course in 18 minutes, 52.5 seconds. Our Midstate Athletic Conference First Team All-Star earned an alternate spot for the Class D state meet as a result but got the chance to represent Section 4 when a higher finisher recently bowed out.
The NYSPHSAA Class D boys race is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. We wish Brennan and all of the high school cross country state qualifiers the best of luck!
